Things To Do To Get Your Body Ready For Pregnancy

Stop birth control pills 2 to 3 months before trying to get pregnant.

Check with yours doctor to see if you are up to date on your immunizations. (MMR - Measles, Mumps, Rubella in particular) Your doctor may draw some blood and see that you are immune even if you know you have been vaccinated, to make sure the vaccine was effective.

Check with your doctor about any medical problems you have to see how to best manage them during pregnancy.

Look at your diet and try to have a healthier diet. See a nutritionist if you want or need.

Try to find exercise that you enjoy. This is a good habit, both for physical health and stress relief.

Review your family history for birth defects or inherited diseases.

Stop smoking, drinking alcohol and using drugs. Review medications you are taking with your doctor.

Go ahead and start taking prenatal vitamins.

Review home and work for any health hazards.
