Omega-3 Fatty Acids Are Good For The Baby

Omega-3 Fatty Acids are fats that we don't make on our own, so we have to get through our diet. They have been found to be very good to have a reasonable intake of them while pregnant since they are necessary for healthy brain and eye development. There are also some studies that suggest it decreases the risk of the baby developing allegies.

One problem with trying to consume the Omega-3 fatty acids while pregnant is that one of the best sources of them is fish, which also can have high levels of mercury, which you don't want. (For more information of what to avoid duing pregnancy, click here.)

A prenatal vitamin has addressed this by including Omega-3 fatty acids in the vitamin. Actually it is a second pill, but not as big as the first. For information on the DUET prenatal vitamin that includes Omega-3's, click here.
