Implantation Bleeding
Implantation bleeding is mild spotting that occurs about a week after ovulation and about a week before you expect your next period. It is bleeding that you actually WANT to have when you are trying to get pregnant. So if you are trying to conceive and are following your cycles, you may be confused by the off-timed bleeding, but don't be dismayed... be encouraged!
If you have this unusually timed bleeding, it is time to start taking some early urine pregnancy tests! If the bleeding is implantation, then you should soon begin to produce hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin), which the the hormone detected by urine pregnancy tests. You may be able to get a positive urine pregnancy test 1 day after implantation, so you can begin testing 1 day after you begin what may be implantation bleeding. But if the test is negative... keep testing every morning. (The morning urine has the most concentrated hCG, so it is the best to use for the urine pregnancy test.)
Implantation bleeding occurs in about 30% of pregnancies, so if you don't have it, you still may be pregnant.
